'Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.' Roger Caras
With three large, playful, rough-and-tumble dogs of my own, I was frustrated at constantly buying manufactured dog toys which usually ended up in shreds within half an hour. Anything with stitching or stuffing - my dogs made it their mission to quickly find the weak spots and create a toy massacre, usually resulting in "stuffing guts" all over the carpet!
A few years ago I started experimenting with making my own "cheap and cheerful" tug-toys - initially using old rags and recycled t-shirt fabrics and then with soft, washable fleece fabrics - designing hand-made knotted and woven toys that could withstand vigorous games.
All the designs for Soft Toys 4 Dogs have been subjected to thorough testing by our Quality Manager, "Roo the Schmoo" pictured here conducting a thorough Tug Test!
My own family of dogs have had endless fun playing with the toys featured on the Soft Toys 4 Dogs website - I hope yours will, too.
About Our Toys
- All our toys are made from 100% Polar fleece fabric which is light-weight and washable. Strips of fabric are braided and knotted by hand to create the toys. All our toys are individually hand-crafted, and - as with any hand-made item - minor variations are natural and should be expected. Every effort has been made to accurately represent and describe fabric colours, though minor discrepancies in fabric batches may result in slight variation from the photographs shown.
- The durability and longevity of any tug toy will naturally depend to a large degree on the vigour and enthusiasm of your dog! Whilst the toys featured on our website will withstand reasonably vigorous play, please bear in mind that they are fabric toys, and if your dog has exceptionally destructive tendencies, this will obviously reduce the lifespan of the toy.
Hello I love these toys. My dogs won’t leave them alone.
We got a couple of these for our Staffy and he loves them.
So good we also bought one for our friends dog.
They’re really strong and washable….which helps!
